TOPIC: XB gamepad recognization firmware

the Elite V dongle is not recognized by the setup software on any Firmware higher than EB Elite V_V1.8 !!

it just asks me to plug it in, so I unplug and replug it in and it still says its not plugged in. This is cured using EB Elite V_V1.8 firmware.

so I still cant run the mouse as an XBOX controller and that's what I bought it for.

Any clue as to why...

I can not get the Xbox Recognition to work, I recently bought the Aimon XB Elite V and had problems with it that turned out to be the USB dongle which has now been replaced.

I have successfully installed the new 2.2 firmware to the dongle and now want my PC to see the mouse as an Xbox controller .. when i plug in the dongle (without pressing the button) everything works as it should as a separate mouse and wand and all the programed buttons work fine...

now after pressing the button and holding for 2 seconds the dongle should activate the Xbox mode ... but it doesn't ... the PC and what ever game I try still see it as it did before and not an XBOX controller.

Any help would be appreciated

We tested the firmware V2.2, this pad mode works fine at our end.
So if you are using Win7, after pressing the button for 2 sec, check
the device manager main window to see if there is "Microsoft Common Controller For
Windows Class" showing up, under this
Item, click on it this will show the "Xbox 360 Controller for Windows" there.

If your system is Win XP, you need to install the Xbox controller driver first to
get the PC to work with it. The driver should be found from internet or Microsoft
website.

Then after you can see the dongle is in the device manager, depending on what game you are playing, you may need to go to the game "setup" to configure the controller as game control.

Because the mode switching is done by button pressing, so when you keep the device
manager opened, you can see the "Microsoft Common Controller" item on and off
while you switch the mode.

I now have windows seeing the Aimon mouse as an Xbox controller, It seems I was not holding the button long enough for it to register ( holding the button for 4 seconds activates the Xbox mode)

The only problem I have now is that no matter how I tweak the mouse using the F button and the mouse wheel, the mouse still has to travel vast distances to turn within the game.

To turn 360 degrees in game using a normal mouse and keyboard can be accomplished using an arced sweep of the wrist, with the mouse traveling approximately 6-8 centimeters at the top of the arc.

To accomplished the same movement using the Aimon Mouse I have to use my whole arm sweeping from the elbow and shoulder traveling 25-30 centimeters!

I have tried different combinations of increasing/decreasing the dead zone and the mouse speed but it has little effect in reducing the vast movement needed to turn in game.

Is there something I am doing wrong or have overlooked?

What game are you playing? Have in increased in game speed to maximum and F+ right tilt to the highest?

the game I am having this trouble with is Hitman Absolution ...and Yes I have adjusted to the highest settings as out lined in the manual ..

But as you asked what game i was playing made me think is it the same with other games ....so I did a test ... and the answer is no not really....

As a quick test I tried Alan Wake, Black Ops II and Borderlands 2 and the Aimon mouse responded reasonably well... not slow like it does in Hitman Absolution.

Not sure why this would be ... but it does make me wonder what other games it may not perform with.

Maybe you guys could test it out.

Like someone said above 2 seconds doesn't work 4 seconds is the key to switch.

Why not make a mode where everything is recognized as gamepad input except the mouse movement.

That would make it possible to retain precise and accurate mouse control while giving the full functionality of gamepad buttons and analog inputs.
