The XB/XBV firmware to support the game pad mode on PC. This will allow the mouse to be recognized as a gamepad on your pc.

We have put those firmware into the directory with all other firmware.
So, for the XB Elite, run the setup software that can see it in the firmware
list, the firmware name is:

XB_Elite_XBOX.
This version is for in PC as 360 controller without pressing the sync button.

For the XB EliteV, we have merged this function into the firmware V2.2 and V2.2beta,
run the setup software to find this.

Thus, it needs user to switch the mode as following : plug in dongle without button
pressed, the dongle enters the PC mouse mode.

Any time user wants to switch to XBOX360 controller mode, he can press the dongle
button for 2 seconds to switch back to PC mode press the dongle button 2 sec again.
This 360 controller mode doesn't save into memory, so, each time plug-in, the
default mode still be the mouse mode.

(same notice on the postfix name, change it back to ".XBE" if it is changed by
browser when downloaded)

For XB EliteV users:
the same as PS Elite game pad on PC version, plug dongle into PC without pressing the dongle button and when it is connected to mouse/wand ,
press the dongle button for 2 seconds. To switch back to PC mouse mode (only on XB
EliteV hardware), press dongle button for 2 seconds again.
Each time you plug into PC without dongle button, it enters into PC mouse mode as
default, and only on mouse mode can you switch to PAD mode.

For XB Elite users: NON ELITE!
For XB users: Due to the code space limitation, this PC-pad mode firmware removed the
original PC mouse/keyboard mode function.
Plug into PC without press dongle button.
If user wants his original PC mouse/keyboard function back, he needs to flash his
dongle with any of our current firmware version with software.

Only had the chance to test on one game ACII but the new fw worked well. My windows 7 Ultimate 64bit recoginzed it immediately as a 360 controller and I didn't have to do anything else in the game. The mouse which controlles the camera view was a little sluggish and I couldn't adjust it like normal with the f-button and wheel, but this is more of an anoyance than anything. I think I can adjust the gamepad sensitivity ingame for this, but would be nice to be able to adjust on the fly.

Thanks again and good job!

i dont see the point of this firmware, wouldnt you want it to be recognised as a mouse on the pc and have the stick bound to wasd buttons?

To each their own. If you don't see the point, then it's not for you. I want to use the mouse and wand, but would rather use the xbox 360 controller, or gamepad setup in games rather than have to configure buttons to keystrokes as some games need a key for every input. On xbox 360 controller the buttons can have multiple inputs depending on length of press and compination with other buttons. Can't necassarily do this with keyboard inputs.

That is correct. Or in Assassin's Creed games where you have to hold the trigger to jog and both trigger and A button to sprint. There is an advantage in many games to use Aimon as a 360 controller on PC. You get the benefits of a mouse for camera/look angles, which is best in FPS's, and a gampad for sheer convenience of ingame button configs. No mapping necessary since alot of games are compatible with 360 controller or gamepad on PC. Best of both worlds!

So you just download it and run it or what? This now sounds more like something I could use.

I am having a similar problem as this. The XBv works on my 360 but when I try to install driver or enter setup mode on my XP pc it doesn't recognize my dongle. It keeps saying plug in dongle while holding bind button. Help would be appreciated. The light on the dongle only stays on for a second when I plug it into usb.
