Performance

This section is for both the FRAGnStein and xScorch driver installation.  The driver is now shared with the FnS and S controllers.  This driver is for all 32 bit operating systems such as XP, Vista32, and Windows7.  

Conditions Of Use:

Our software upgrades are free.  They are specially designed for Scorch and are not for any other product.  You may download the software to your computer and you can pass the file around however you may not charge a fee for this file.  By downloading and using this file you agree to be bound to the terms and conditions of use.  Please read through the entire Terms of Use that is posted on our site for full details. 

There are three software programs available to you.  The first is the IBM PC driver.   The second is the Firmware upgrade. Third is the configuration tool. This Driver is required for all other software however the Firmware upgrade is optional.

Controller Modes:

To enter set up mode with either the FRAGnStein or Scorch - press the dongle button while putting the dongle into the USB port.  Release the button as soon as the dongle is in the port.  When the controllers are in setup mode the mouse functions are turned off and you may need a second mouse to manouver through the software.

First:

Uninstall any previous FRAGnStein or xScorch drivers.

Windows XP Driver Installation:

Hold the dongle button while putting the dongle into the USB port.  Continue to hold the button after it's plugged in for 3 (three) seconds.  The dongle light should be solid blue.

Note: If windows hardware wizard comes up - allow windows to install what it thinks are the drivers.  The hardware wizard can show up three times.  Select to allow windows to install the drivers each time.

Vista 32 and Windows7 Installation:

Download the driver file.  Once the driver file is downloaded, do not run it, instead select to save the file to your hard drive.  Once the file is saved, then select to open the directory to view the file.  Right click on the file and select to unblock it.  Also select to Run As Admin.  Then double click on the driver file to install the driver.

After the driver is downloaded select Run.

Note: If windows asks, allow the installation to install.

You may have to bind the driver in the device manager. To do this press the Start button on the lower left corner of your computer screen. 


Select Control Panel.



Go towards the bottom of the icons and select System.


Select Hardware then Device Manager.

Press Continue if asked.


Double click on the Highlite Human Interface Devices, this will open the HID devices installed.


Take out the dongle.

Now put your dongle into Setup Mode by pressing and holding the dongle button while putting the dongle into the USB port.  Release the button  as soon as the dongle is in the port. You should see a new HID device being added to the Human Interface Devices list.  That new item is the Scorch driver that should say 'Wireless xScorch Controller'.


If you don't see the new driver installed, then right click on that HID device and select to update driver.



Select 'no windows update'.
Press Next.
Choose 'pick from a list of device drivers'
Select 'Next'.
Choose 'no search, I'll pick my driver'.
Now you should see the 'Wireless xScorch Controller.
Choose that and then Next.
Choose Finish

Your now ready to use the firmware upgrade and configuration software.
